The Paws PR team was in Arlington, VA this past weekend with our client Alley Cat Allies for the Architects of Change for Cat Conference.
More than 350 attendees from 37 states, Canada and Israel gathered for three days to hear national experts provide guidance and information on how to successfully implement humane programs for community cats.
The highlight of the weekend was Saturday evening’s banquet featuring John Fulton, host of Must Love Cats on Animal Planet. John entertained the crowd with “kitty ditties” composed especially for Alley Cat Allies. I had coordinated John’s appearance earlier this year, working closely with his publicist in Los Angeles. Elizabeth met John back in March when she traveled for Alley Cat Allies to Los Angeles for a promotional photo/video shoot with John. After months of coordination and preparation, it was wonderful to see John on stage and watch his fans line up to meet him after the show!
Growing up in Queens, New York, I cared for a colony of cats in my backyard as a little girl. Back then, we did not know about Trap-Neuter-Return or how to care for outdoor cats. What an honor it is for me to have worked for the past 6 years side-by-side with Alley Cat Allies President and Founder Becky Robinson to elevate awareness of this outstanding nonprofit. It was so inspiring this weekend to see so many compassionate people come together to make the world a better place for our feline friends.
