Paws PR is seeking an intern to lead the US media campaign to help raise awareness of World Animal Day (October 4, 2019) in coordination with the UK-based Naturewatch Foundation. World Animal Day was created to raise the status of animals and has over 90 active Ambassadors working around the world and this year, Paws PR is working pro-bono to support this important day for animals.
Events are organized under the World Animal Day umbrella by being publicized on www.worldanimalday.org.uk and advertised using the World Animal Day brand and logo. Global branding effectively ties all events together and we are looking for a volunteer PR manager to assist with raising awareness of the US-based events.
This is an opportunity to be part of a global movement to raise awareness of important animal protection issues. Each year, World Animal Day draws attention to animal issues and makes them front page news – a vital catalyst for change.
We are seeking a volunteer intern to manage (with direction) the media outreach for World Animal Day in the US media. The intern will work directly with the Paws PR and Nature Watch team on all facets of the campaign.
Responsibilities include the following:
Coordination with Naturewatch Foundation to develop story pitches
Drafting targeted pitch letters to reporters and editors
Research and development of targeted US-based media lists
Pitching news media, coordinating interviews with Naturewatch Foundation and local animal protection organization spokespersons
Monitoring news media for coverage and coordinating with Naturewatch Foundation for social media posting
Please send resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications will be considered until August 15, 2019
Project begins August 19 and ends October 11, 2019
